HEALTHY SELFISHNESS WITH A SIDE OF GENERAL TSO CHICKEN

First and foremost, yal (oh Lord, the southern girl is hur-lmbo) inspire me. You, my wonderful readers give me joy. Ok, ok, let me get to bloggin.

I was hosting a weekly workshop today and encouraging the participants to take care of themselves on a regular basis. I was sharing if we aren’t healthy and well, what good are we to other people in our lives? I am a single mom with twin teenage boys at home and always on the go. Between, golf, robotics, my job, worship service, and school when does a superhero find time to wooosaaaa.

Not very often. Lol

Today I got some “me time” in a strange way, I dropped my young men at home and went to return something to Wally world. As I was picking up a small container of chicken, it hit me….this was my time to be selfish.

I laughed because I knew I was gonna eat all the chicken BEFORE I got home.

I took the long way home to give me a few extra minutes of blessed quietness.

I was being selfish and loving it!

We all need to practice a healthy dose of selfishness every so often for our own benefit. When was the last time you took some time for yourself, just you, yourself, and no one else. If it takes you more than 39 seconds to come up with an answer, its been to long. I truly believe a person can practice healthy selfishness and it benefit those around because you become better.

Start now.

Take a minute to pull away and chill.

Find a quiet place.

Read a book.

Work out.

Just do something for yourself and enjoy every minute of it. Yes, I walked in my house like I ain’t ate nuthin.

Hahaha.

Enjoy the journey and take stock in yourself.

Much love,

Beautiful Black Cat
